I spent a few days at the Granarola Castle for the first time at the end of last summer with my boyfriend, who introduced me to this splendid location 45 minutes from home and which I had never even heard of.
The history of the Granarola Castle
It is a splendid castle, once used as a granary, which, having reached a state of progressive abandonment, was recovered and purchased by a well-known local company that began its renovation in 2008.
This delightful hamlet is today a resort with a swimming pool in the center, which makes this place perfect for a relaxing break away from the summer frenzy of the Riviera Romagnola. The setting is that of the rolling hills of Romagna, in the opposite hill, the spectacular rises gradara.
What the location offers
There are several residences inside the Castle: the most particular is certainly the one in the "Forest"Or immersed in nature ... without walls, without roof! Others are convivial spaces, such as a reading room, a barbeque area on one side of the vast surrounding park, a common vegetable garden, relaxation areas with hammocks and even the rental of bikes for some excursions. On request, other personalized services, as well as the possibility of renting it for weddings or other events.
Panorama and surroundings
The panorama enjoyed in the morning by having breakfast by the pool overlooking the hills and with Gradara in the background is priceless.
If you really want to interrupt this relaxation, you have the possibility, Gradara is five minutes away by car, and the Pizzeria da Berto, pizza at Km 0, justifies an escape from tranquility. Obviously for those who have never visited it, the Castello di Paolo e Francesca deserves your attention!
Pesaro and Cattolica are also a few kilometers away, while if you go to stretch a little more you will find Santarcangelo and Villa Verucchio where if you are lucky you can enjoy a nice summer concert!
