The first snow has already arrived in the Rimini hinterland, well in advance of forecasts. And what could be nicer than ice skating, perhaps in the evening, in a snowy town with an almost fairytale flavor? We are a pennabilli, in the Alta Valmarecchia of Rimini, where for the first time a large ice rink was installed thanks to the Ice Project Pennabilli with OurValleys.
The ice rink is part of a larger pilot sports project that will host courses and stages of figure skating, carried out in collaboration with instructors from Milan, from Prague and Helsinki, and hockey courses managed by HIL Riccione and Ice Club Rimini. I write it right away, if some Finnish hockey national team arrives, I am moving to Pennabilli for the winter.
In our case, last week we attended a lesson with the children of a school group and Vera Salomaa, a young Finnish athlete and teacher. It was a unique experience, even to observe a double axel crazy (double pirouette in the air) which naturally thrilled all the children.
Obviously this is a different way to experience the Rimini mountains even in winter. We will certainly be back soon also because skating in the open air, in the snow, in a delightful village like Pennabilli, is an experience to do. Obviously there is also a refreshment bar attached to the track to sip something hot.

The track is open every day until the end of February.
On weekdays it respects the following times: 9.30-12.30, 13.45-19.30, 20.30-23.00. On weekends from 9.00 to 23.00. Entrance fee: 7 euros.
