For visit Aosta you can safely park west of Porta Praetoria, here it is easy to turn around without a precise destination, browsing the windows of the many shops (many of local crafts). Among the many things to buy, for example, try to buy small food souvenirs by spending only € 4 each, such as mini bowls of pears / chocolate and chestnut jam, supported by "tegole" (Aosta Valley biscuits), so that you can spread them on top: real delight for the palate. Among other things, they can also buy online, to prolong that pleasure.
In the Chanoux square you can find the nineteenth-century Town Hall: la Cathedral it has double bell towers and the façade has XNUMXth century frescoes; the church of Sant'Orso, rebuilt on a pre-existing one in the year XNUMX, was a real surprise in Romanesque-Gothic art. The Roman bridge, the Arch of Augustus and Piazza Chanoux concluded the mini-tour in the Aosta Valley.
After mid-afternoon in Aosta, still by car, taking the SS26 you can visit the Fénis Castle: when you think of a castle, you imagine it just like this.
It has a pentagonal plan, with erected circular turrets in the corners: inside you can find various frescoes, including those of San Giorgio killing the dragon, San Cristoforo and the Annunciation.

Apart from the somewhat disorganized service, the pizza is excellent: with pasta cooked to the right point in a wood oven and high quality ingredients. With a drink and a dessert, total cost € 14.
