Until 8 June you will have the opportunity to visit Rimini the Biennial of Design, a cultural event that is attracting thousands of visitors to the capital of the Romagna Riviera. Started in April, the Biennale includes twenty-three different places between public and private galleries where you can admire artistic works all linked by a single common denominator: drawing.
Dedicated to the German artist Saul Steinberg, this 'widespread' exhibition will allow you to look at a different Rimini. Browsing the biennaledisegnorimini.it web portal you will find listed all the locations and artists exhibiting their works and if you will be able to visit Rimini in the next days until May 25 you will also find the event Rimini festival drawing, a biennial within the biennial that pays even more attention to the artistic expression of 'drawing'.
The installations are located in different parts of the city, but all can be easily reached on foot in a few minutes from each other: in Castel Sismondo, at the City Museum and in its new wing, at the FAR Fabbrica Arte Rimini in the central Piazza Cavour, at the Cineteca Municipal, in the ancient rooms of the Gambalunga Library. Some can also be found outside the city, as in Santarcangelo di Romagna at the Historical Archaeological Museum or at the Malatestiana Library in Cesena.
Fans will be able to find 40 different artists in the Design Yard in the new wing of the City Museum, the exhibition dedicated to Antonio Basoli in Castel Sismondo, the dream book of Federico Fellini in the rooms of the City Museum, the drawings of Hugo Pratt at Castel Sismondo, just to name a few.
Everything is free at the Biennale and it is not something so obvious given the quantity of works on display. I guarantee you that this is a way to visit a 'cultural' Rimini that you did not expect. If you are an Instagram enthusiast, the #myER project, the photo contest of the Emilia Romagna Tourism Department, is also connected to the Design Biennale.
