Flying from Bergamo Orio al Serio airport with some low cost flights? Here's where to park cheaply, a roundup of parking lots with lots of prices and any closing days.
THEOrio al Serio, of Caravaggio (Bergamo) is now the home of the Ryanair and of low cost flights in Italy, even if the connections to reach it are not the best, both in terms of time and cost, risking to compromise the beneficial effects of savings on the flight. In fact, the main railway line Milan-Venice does not pass through Bergamo, and instead a couple of changes would be necessary to reach the destination. By personally choosing to go by car and therefore having to evaluate the parking situation, I thought I'd share a short report, complete with prices and some useful advice. There are different types of parking lots, covered or uncovered, more or less close, with or without the possibility of keeping the keys of your car. I proceed with a roundup of possible solutions, of all kinds, in a somewhat scattered order.
- ABCDE terminal, incorporated into the airport structure, all within a few tens of meters, some of which are covered. Prices from € 11,50 to € 15 per day for covered, € 9 / day for uncovered. More expensive than average, but comfortable for proximity if necessary.
- Low Cost Terminal Parking, at the back of the terminal and by shuttle, € 8 1 day, € 15 2 days, € 19,90 from 3 to 8 days. Convenient for long stops.
- Lowcost Parking, Via Emilia 27-29 (Azzano San Paolo) south of the motorway, with free shuttle (5 minutes). From € 10,50 to € 18 for 3 days (depending on the day of the week), € 33 for the whole week. Not as low-cost as its name would like, valid more for short stops.
- Volaparking, Via Azzano S. Paolo 57 (Grassobbio) south of the motorway, with free shuttle (5 minutes). € 14 for 3 days, € 19 for 7 days. Also covered, at € 17 and € 35 respectively. Among the cheapest.
- Parktofly (Orio Fast & Easy), on the way to the airport and very close to it, also with free shuttle. Prices: € 16 for 3 days, € 22 for 7 days. Economic especially in relation to proximity.
- ParkinGO Bergamo, Via dell'Industria 5 (Orio al Serio), with free shuttle (5 minutes). 24 € the 3 days, 32 € the week. Not the best prices, especially for short stays.
- Blue Fly Park, very close to the airport and in any case with free shuttle service included. Base prices for the overdraft 18 € for the 3 days, 30 € the week. Not very cheap, to evaluate the anti-hail parking service, which costs little more than the open, but always less than the covered, and in certain seasons it can save you the body shop.
- Caravaggio Park, Via Matteotti 58 / b (Grassobbio), south of the highway, with free shuttle. € 14 for 3 days, € 22 per week. In line with the cheapest, but only if you book online.
- Hello Parking, Via Azzano S. Paolo (Grassobbio), south of the motorway, with free shuttle. Prices of € 13,70 for 3 days and € 28 for the week. Economic especially for medium-short stops, choose another one for the week. Ciao Parking has an agreement with Ryanair and can therefore be booked already with the flight, with the advantage of being already aligned with any delays on return.
- Orio Big Parkinstead, it is reported to me as closed.
In my personal case, with a 5-day stop, more than one solution would have been good. In the end I opted for Ciao Parking for the convenience of booking through Ryanair, with the same cost and services offered by other car parks. The impression was very good and I went back a second time as well. The bulk of the advantage is the partnership with Ryanair, which facilitates both booking and connections with schedules.
An update of all prices soon. Meanwhile, I would like to point out that Ciao Parking has doubled, with Hello Parking 2 in via Cassinone 5C in Seriate, with even better conditions.
