Last Friday evening I was in the center of Rimini with friends. It was dinner time and we went into the restaurant Pic Nic. I thought for a moment whether to write about it or not, but why shouldn't I even when expectations are not met? It is among the historical places of Rimini and every Rimini citizen must have gone there at least once.
As soon as you enter there is an air of history and you cannot help but notice the endless newspaper articles and photographs hanging on the walls, as prizes and awards. The restaurant is divided into two parts, one a little finer with well-finished furniture and seats covered in white and one that is easier in the veranda. In the summer this part of the restaurant is the most coveted as it overlooks the garden of the ancient and destroyed Palazzo Lettimi, and is very pleasant in the warm August evenings.
In case you want to dine as a restaurant you will find a large buffet full of all the good things, but a fairly simple restaurant menu. Let's say I was expecting something more, but maybe it wasn't my night. So we chose to opt for pizza, since the Pic Nic is also a pizzeria and we messed up soundly. It was probably just an unlucky evening because on other occasions I always came out satisfied. I chose the Pic Nic pizza, overcooked, excessively thin and unable to satiate me. But some certainly like low pizza. Including the beer, I could have gotten out of there for 14 €, but the stomach still demanded something. So I also choose an English soup, a lot of soup and a little English with a glass of sweet muscatel, definitely oxidized. I practically ruined myself with my own hands and it was better not to tempt fate. It was time to observe my Russian neighbors at the table, spend a little more and opt for the restaurant menu.
