Excellent Sardinian food and a walk along the seafront: this place will surprise you with its simple and refined menu and the special welcome of the staff. Don't leave the place without having ordered spaghetti with clams: they are truly special.
On the Roman coast, twenty minutes by car from the capital, there is a small and welcoming restaurant that proudly represents the food and wine tradition of the wonderful Sardinia. I discovered the Renzo's restaurant by pure chance, and I fell in love with it at first sight.

On Torvaianica seafront, a little away from the chaos that inevitably arises in the center of the town, the chef Renzo and his family they have recreated a delightful corner of Sardinia.
From the outside you hardly notice: a very delicate sign, white painted wood, flower boxes and well-tended plants create the right intimacy of a really nice place.
The restaurant is not very large and has a covered outdoor veranda that can be enjoyed from spring to autumn.
All the details are very accurate, the colors are soft, the furniture simple and elegant. Already the first impact is really pleasant!
A special atmosphere
The welcome of the dining room staff is what makes the difference.
Smiling, very kind and with a beautiful positive energy that cannot fail to impress.
They always have the right advice on the dishes of the day and are happy to answer questions and curiosities. In particular, I love the sympathy of Renzo's wife with whom I always pleasantly exchange two more words.
Generally, a beautiful relationship of empathy is created that helps make dinner (or lunch) a really good time.

Renzo and his family also love and value their land: just look at the shelf that he proudly displays excellent Sardinian wines.
While you decide what to order, excellent bread is served hot carasau with chilli jam: a whim of unique goodness and a truly appreciated gesture of attention.
The menu: what to expect
Renzo's menu struck me from the first time.
First few dishes that are not trivial but not too risky: in many high-level restaurants it seems impossible to order a plate of simple (but excellent) spaghetti with clams!
In addition, the menu accurately indicates for each dish all the ingredients that compose it, including the type of oil used. To demonstrate theextreme attention to the quality and freshness of the raw materials used.
Renzo's pasta is homemade, the toppings are always very well balanced and the chef never abuses spices like garlic.
All the flavors are in the right place, full and round but never aggressive or excessive.
In my opinion his spaghetti with clams they are among the best I have ever eaten, including the ones my grandmother made!
The fish served is super fresh and varies from time to time. The seared tuna is exceptional and cooked to perfection, and the fried fish plentiful and varied.
At Renzo's you eat a few simple dishes but never boring, genuine and cooked with the heart.
Sweet? Well, how to give up spectacular seadas made by the chef? I have never been able to taste the other desserts ... seadas should be listed as a World Heritage Site.
If you want to spend a special evening or indulge in an unforgettable lunch out of town with a walk by the sea including Renzo's restaurant is the right place for you.
And certainly the right place for all gourmets.
