The Tirler hotel was born as the first Italian hotel for allergy sufferers and is located at 1752 meters high immersed in the Alpe di Siusi. We are located in the province of Bolzano on a majestic 52 square kilometer esplanade protected by Unesco, where every snow-covered road is crossed only by skiers and walkers, therefore a completely white expanse where there are no cars, slopes or crowded parking lots.
And it is in this environment that the first Italian hotel for allergy sufferers was born. Tirler Hotel. The first to have obtained the certificate of Ecarf, European Center for the Allergy Research Foundation. The structure was designed by studying the terrain and materials to remove any danger of pollution and contamination.
The sense that is activated immediately upon entering the Tirler Hotel is the sense of smell: the ceilings are covered with stone pine, a wood that with its aroma gives calm and regulates the heartbeat. Sculptures, furnishings, walls, but also in the saunas we find this wood. Any reference to the classic South Tyrolean environment is however banned.
No stoves or radiators to heat the rooms. In the living room there is a fireplace, surrounded by glass so as not to let out dust. While in the rooms the walls are crossed by pipes where hot water flows which allows to regulate the temperature. On the walls you can see not deer antlers and little pictures with edelweiss on the walls, but portraits of Luis Trenker, actor, director and climber from Ortisei who shot some of his films in this town.
The fabrics of the furnishings are anti-mite, the linen washed without chlorine, carpets and wallpapers are prohibited. And at the restaurant, the menu is tailor-made for children as well intolerant to gluten and lactose.
To access the rooms there are external stairs that connect the hall to the rooms. An effect sought after by the builders, but I don't know how much it is appreciated by the customers, thinking that in these places it can even reach 20 degrees below zero.
