Sardinia hides many of the most beautiful Italian beaches including the beaches between Santa Teresa Gallura and Castelsardo, read the post to find inspiration for your next holidays in Sardinia.
The long coast that runs from Santa Teresa Gallura in Castelsardo is a succession of beaches and places to visit, a real itinerary for a holiday to discover nature and traditions.
Thanks to the coastal road you can immerse yourself in the Gallura countryside in the middle of the Mediterranean scrub, barren hills, junipers bent by the wind and solitary stazzi that dominate the hills. Curves alternate with long straights, as well as almost uninhabited stretches of road and tourist settlements. The wonderful views of the cliffs open the perspective towards the sea and make us look for the descent to the beaches.
The beaches are all signposted, some can be reached by short dirt tracks, while most have parking near the beach.
Starting from Santa Teresa we first meet the village of Rena Majore with many services, minimarket, summer pharmacy and restaurants. Its beach (actually two) is large with white sand and sea with lovely colors. Going up towards the village there is a pine forest with tables in the shade for lunch or rest in the cool.
Da Rena Majore it is possible to walk along the cliff path and arrive at Rena Di Matteu, another beautiful and less frequented beach.
The trekking trail continues until you reach Monti Russo, a protected promontory with many inlets and small beaches, perfect for those who love walking in nature.
South of the promontory we find the beaches of Lu Litarroni e Naracu Nieddu: wild beaches, free and with a wonderful sea.
Later we meet Vignola, an exquisitely tourist resort with a beautiful long beach and the possibility of walking along the coastal path. Unmistakable thanks to the tower that stands out in the southern part of the bay. A comfortable beach for those with small children and much loved by sailing and wave sportsmen.
We continue towards Castelsardo we meet Costa Paradiso, a large village of houses and residences completely immersed in the scrub, with the houses set among the large reddish rocks that light up towards the sunset. The reference beaches here are two: beach of Li Cossi, comfortable and suggestive, and the beach of Tinnari, a naturalistic jewel that can be reached from the village on foot with a beautiful path in nature, or by car from the main road.
Once you have passed Costa Paradiso it is time to make a stop in Isola Rossa, a fishing village, today a tourist destination with the Longa beach, equipped with all the necessities for a family holiday and for those who love water sports.
Finally we reach Badesi with a long coastline of almost 8 kilometers. The beach of Li Junchi it is the central part of this long stretch of fine sand, bordered by sand dunes and bordered by a stretch of paved road with car parks. Baia delle Mimose is the next stretch of the coast, very long, it also has several accesses and is equipped with a stop for local public transport, which connects it to the town of Badesi.
Here the equipped areas alternate with stretches of free beach, the atmosphere is that of a beach holiday based on sun, relaxation and great swims.
Being almost all exposed to the west, these beaches offer us spectacular sunsets over the sea, thanks to which the days get longer and the baths become romantic at nightfall. Also due to the exposure, however, most of them are not sheltered from the mistral so, when the wind blows, it is better to choose small inlets or seek shelter near the rocks.
Along the way there are many solutions for holidays: some campsites by the sea, hotels in Santa Teresa, Costa Paradiso and Badesi, many holiday homes or small B & Bs in the inland towns.
The villages of Costa Paradiso and Rena Majore are in an excellent position for those who want to discover the area and choose a different destination every day.
