If you find yourself in Tuscany. and more precisely between the Val di Cornia and Val di Cecina you can't not visit The small medieval villages that populate these beautiful valleys and that will surely leave you with a beautiful memory of a hidden Tuscany.
On this occasion I highly recommend you to visit Montecatini Val di Cecina, a typical medieval village famous mainly for its mining complex and its historical riches, has a lovely although small central square where you will find an easy parking for the car and where I recommend you stop to eat, typically homemade, by Loris or the owner of the restaurant I'm sure there is, famous for the cacciucco from Livorno, the owner is definitely an extravagant type, the costs are low and the place is really nice.
Another stop even if it is distant La Rocca and the country of San Dalmazio , the two countries are far from each other, in fact, for the more "hungry" and wanderers of villages, I would recommend staying a night to be able to do at least the most important villages.
San Dalmazio is another medieval village, certainly to visit the narrow streets that wind through the town, but the Rocca is the host, imposing to see even along the road from a distance overlooking the village and all lit up at night it is of great charm, to reach it there is a very nice undemanding wooded path and here too a stop for your palate is obviously due ... La Rocca restaurant (the one with the beautiful wooden pergola covered with flowers and ivy) the dishes are simple and enjoyable, the prices are low.
If you are not full yet, I will point out i main medieval villages to visit and I leave you with some of the my photographs which I hope will intrigue you.
